Color - clear but blackish garnet. Nose - cooked dark/red cherries, strawberry, dried hawthorn, prune/cranberry, hibiscus and burnt tire. In the mouth, medium++ acidity, medium- but firm dusty/stemmy tannin comes in delay together with Belgian amber ale-like rich bittersweet roasted malt aftertaste. Pleasantly syrupy intensity, having good core to give tension. Overall a bit reminiscent of moderately matured Puglian red blend (Negroamaro/Malvasia Nero/Primitovo). Not overly complex, but having beautiful circle shape.

Paired with an amazing Thanksgiving dinner of Turkey, breakfast sausage dressing, mashed potatoes, candied yams, green bean casserole and cranberry sauce.
Wine was perfect pairing for the dinner, slightly acidic, but full of red fruit -- didn't need the cranberry sauce, the wine provided all the right notes.

Decent enough and priced right. Out of the gate its tart and cranky. After 15-30 mins sweet strawberry like fruit opens widely balancing out that acid. That's about it. Nicely balanced yet forwardly fruited. A classic CA drank.

Light bodied red made up (allegedly) of seven different grapes. Strawberry comes through first - decent heat from the 14.4% alcohol, but I wish the finish was longer. Tart and puckery, and I get no oaky notes (a welcome relief from some of the vanilla bombs).

Great garnet color, wonderful aroma and excellent balance. I am hopeful this wine continues to be made in the future now that Sean is gone.
