Dnp; ruby w faint rim, ripe boysenberry, plum spice on nose, medium bodied, silky smooth mouth feel, dark berries, sous bois funk, mild spice, finish tails off into somewhat leaner heat; nice with meatballs; on the decline; drink up

Opened 60 min prior; dark ruby; dried herbs dill on nose; rich medium full bodied with smooth sweet tannins; blackberry, hint plum, lasting finish with cedar; surprisingly great with fire roasted garlic butter oyster; charcuterie; especially so with NY strip

Tauter and higher pitched than the 2011 vintage, and showing medium plus to high acid, the wine shows all the finest elements of the terroir, including tobacco, creosote, and garrigue. This probably needs 10 years to enter a solid drinking window. The challenge will be holding onto it for that long. 93-94.

Riper and jammier than the RD with black raspberry jam, touches of spice, grass and minerals on the nose. Round and supple on the palate, full bodied with really juicy black fruit flavors. Ripe and delicious but not heavy, this has rounder and more subtle tannins than the RD.
