Slightly funky nose, whiffs of brett that gave the impression of old school Burgundy (which is not necessarily a good thing). Made in a more powerful and extracted style, darker fruited on the palate. Didn't quite like this but the rusticity is true to NSG I suppose.

It smells of aniseed and black cherry. It is rich and velvety in the mouth, with good power and intensity for its level. Sweet tannins carry the long finish.
