Weekly tasting group #204; A fully blind test. (@ DJ): The bouquet shows dark forest fruits, sweet spices , menthol and rustic impressions. Same impressions on the palate, vanilla mild acidity and tannin. Mature and supple and no real hurry. Nice wine.

I had this a couple of time when we were at Singita and it was clearly the winner. First time when back home.
Minerals, red and blue berries, intense and interesting. Truly a biodynamic vintner and clearly an outstanding wine. Pleased to have bought a case. This resembles a CdP, which is surprising given that its nature would lend itself more resemblance to Hermitage. Anyway, this was great!

Tannins still present so you can hold these for a bit longer. Medium bodied and elegant mouth feel. Blossomed with a few hours of air. Meaty and savory tasting without predominant fruit.

Typical dark purple syrah color with aromas of dried dark fruit, prune, spice, and leather. The flavors are much the same, but not as powerful as I had hoped. Tannins are present and a tad young, but this wine is still quite drinkable now. The finish is moderately short with a touch of complexity. However, the wine paired amazingly well with a grass-fed beef meatloaf.
