Tasted from magnum after a 2hr decant. Really special wine - savory and leathery, with lots of baked cherries and spearmint on the palate. Tannins still noticeable but moving to the back. Doesn't taste like a 30-year wine, and has years to go yet.

I thought it would be good per the notes below but always worry about older bottles regardless. In fact, this was one of the best wines I’ve tasted in a long while and could even deserve 100 pts. Everything was in perfect balance - the dark fruit with a bit of tar and cedar, the American oak was tamed but gave it structure, the deep purple color with some bricking, the mouthfeel was chewy and the finish long. This reminded me of how good Silver Oak was back in the day…

Owned this from new issue and have had some up and down thots over the yrs. At 28 it’s really settled in. Great amount of earth has emerged and fruit, while still there is secondary but still sexy, sweet. Held up to a multiple hr decant. Last, best...
