was originally less interested vs other vintages but with proper 2 hour decant it holds up pretty well. Definitely grew on me. Enjoyable with long finish

Did virtual tasting with winery. Vertical of ‘15, ‘16 and ‘17. The ‘17 was our least favorite. Probably because it is still young and quite tannic. Flavor profile didn’t seem to have the bright red and black fruits that other vintages expressed. Finish was very short and abrupt. Maybe more time will help wine evolve?

Keeping with my consistent belief that no wine is too young to drink (why wait), I found this 2017 wine excellent and ok to drink now, without much/any breathing. The color is a dark ruby bordering on purple, indicative of cab and a young wine. Took a flyer and paired it with my shelter-in-place ribeye stir fry!!! Cherry, plum, strawberry, not overpowering. Actually quite nicely balanced now. 14.4% alcohol. I drank this one from a 375ml bottle. Went right from bottle to glass, no decanting
