(SYP) Double blind. The nose speaks Italy but the palate leads me to somewhere else. It's been a while since my last Amarone. A savoury nose of dark berry syrup, vanilla, toast and tobacco. Rich and smooth with caramelised fruit flavours. Too sweet for me to like.

This is a beautiful example of old school Amarone and this vintage ‘07 is in the zone with a deep ruby purple colour smooth with very balanced tannins and acidity. Plum, berry and a little spice. Flavour long lasting in the mid palate.
Big bold Veneto red paired very well with a calabrese chile followed by a striploin.
Drink up!

Brilliant. Drinking nicely upon opening, as well as a day later. Nice prune/raisin amarone character with some tart cherry, baking spice, a bit of tarry notes. Full bodied, nice acidity, soft tannins. Great now and should drink well for 5-7 more years.

Dark red with brown edge, cherry, delicious, long aftertaste. It’s almost like being in Verona!

rich and not too sweet, a bit savory, quite old-schooled. very correct. regret not having bought by cases.
