  • This, in contrast to the 1997 we tasted in the same flight, was a sheer monster of bottle. Excellent juice, just rocking for days and can continue to rock for many more years without question. The intensity of the wine puts it up another level. Sweet, ripe, silky strawberry fruit and fresh rose petals, with a cooling minty influence. It's nuanced; you get touches of soy sauce and earth in the backdrop, but doesn't really get in the way of the purity of the fruit. There's also hardly any transition in colour on this thing, bright ruby and clear as day. I'd have pegged this at a much younger age. Tremendous finish. Had the nose been a bit more generous, it'd have been all the better. If you have this wine then there is no hurry, there is a really nice long drinking window ahead of it.

    Fantastic Richebourg from Anne Gros.

  • I did not keep any notes but it was a young powerful wine that is still too primary to really appreciate its quality. I'll wait a couple of more years before I try again.

  • Lived up to the expectations . Lots of energy, mineral and fruit in the background.

  • drinking with 03 af gros richebourg, 64 charles noellat richebourg and 09 bizot elise fermonche. This bottle has the clearest deep purple-ruby color. Looks very young. Purple fruits, purple flower, leather, game, earth, mineral, dry grass, prune. Pronounced flavor intensity. On palate, it's not that concentrated at the beginning. After aeration, it's getting more concentrated and more mouthcoating. very powerful bottle.

  • Decanted to serve. The most reserved, but that is the quintessential Richebourg. Most layered and structured on the palate, all packed with substances, darker fruit, toned, very powerful. 94
