Popped and poured. Rich, brambly black fruit aroma. Mellow flavors of cherry, earth, twigs. Hint of vanilla in the finish. Fruit on top, funk underneath, firm backbone, some complexity. Drinking beautifully and probably at its peak.

Four thirteen stands for its use of 4 of the 13 grapes typically used to make Chateauneuf du Pape. This is made very much in that style with rich dark fruits along with notes of garrigue and minerals which leads to a crisp, fresh finish. A nice effort.

delicious and juicy, but with enough fresh-syrah mossy-damp-log-in-the-woods quality to keep it interesting; zippy acidity, this could last several more years; more integrated on second night

What a gorgeous well-balanced new world take on a Rhone styled wine. Flavorful but not at all sweet or overpowering. Nice backbone. Cracked black pepper. Red fruit. Really delicious, enjoyable, and elegant at the same time. Will seek out more from this producer.

Very solid wine. Nicely balanced. Donkey and Goat produce great wine and this is a great example of it. Cheers.
