Cool fruited, wild and earthy, dried herbs, mint. Remains alive and well even on day two, very much a Grenache wine with good depth and elegance. Impressive showing, once again.

Opens up with funky, earthy nose, leather, soft red fruit. Soft as a pillow on the palate, fully resolved. Subtle cherry fruit, sous bois notes, garrigue. Truly takes you back to Gigondas, STGT wine. Bought in the Caveau au Gigondas in 2004. Great wine, just the way I like it.

Well made, mature, rather smooth, a fine wine, hints of local feel - drink up.

Wine Education Service - Southern Rhône (Notting Hill Gate): Delicious, beckoning, blackcurrant, mint later.
Meaty fruit, liquorice, good balance, peppery with laods of life (5-10 years), great length.
