In advance to my trip to the Nothern- and Southern Rhone in a few days i opened a 2015 Cuvee Prestige Chateuaneuf du Pape from Roger Sabon. A lovely smell of dark red fruits came out of the bottle and it was pop and pure. In the glas pepper with a hint of garrigue was added and the mouthfeel was great ! Fine, silky tanins roaming around with even the taste of crsuhed, cooked fruits. The wine is great now and its a pleasure to drink it. Even its going to be good for a lot of years more ! Elegant in style, ruby in color. The finish was very long lasting at the palate and the wine evolves over the evening. What a pleasure ! Soon I'll be there for the current vintage 🍷😍
Try it !
Cheers !

This is a solid CDP that is maturing nicely. Great black fruits, fantastic nose with the elusive garrigue.

Needs some time or some air but this is a big, complex, beautiful CdP. Lots of ways to pair good with it…

Continues to improve and develop greater depth, still needs a 3+ hour decant to show its best.

Sep 2017: Tried with grilled pork and veggies. Thought it was still intriguing, but didn't love the barnyard funk as much at home.
Sep 2017 (tasting): Intriguing nose, touch of barnyard. Tartness and tannin on body, but not a ton of structure. Herb-y pork?
