Tasted December 7, 2007. We needed a rose for a Salad Nicoise but were out so we chilled this down to about 50 degrees and served immediately. Nice pairing in a pinch (chilling is the key). Garnet color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of black currants, a hint of dark chocolate, a touch of saddle leather and a whisper of florals. Totally unexpected in the CdR. Flavors of red berries, red currants, strawberries and an odd flavor that reminded me of Dijon mustard (odd I know but not offputting in any way). Fairly short finish. Medium acidity, integrated tannins, light to medium body. Drink now. Last bottle and oddly one of the best of the six.

Tasted June 9, 2007 at home. Opened and served immediately in a Spiegelau Authentis Magnum glass. Light garnet to garnet color in the glass, clear to slightly dusty looking hue throughout. Nose of Kirsch, blueberries, white pepper and a bit of leather. Flavors of raspberries, cherries, berries and a hint of bitters on the finish. Light to medium acidity, integrated tannins, light to medium body. Drink now.

This bottle seemed to be fading. Light to non-existent acidity. Same thing with the tannins. Fruit was absent. Just a bit of brett and a metallic presence on the palate. No rating as a result.

WIML89. About the same as the tasting in early 2006. The December bottle must have been slightly off. Drink now.
