A surprisingly delicious wine that took a full 24 hours to fully open up. Initially tannic but kept evolving until the last few sips of scrumptious black cherry and plum that made me want one more sip. While mature it is still lively needing decanting as there is some fine sediment at the bottom of the bottle.

Cork crumbled. Removed with Ah-so. Appearance is clear, deep intensity, garnet colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of leather, mushroomy earth, black plums, cloves, integrated chocolate oak. Developed. On the palate, dry, medium+ acidity, high alcohol (14.5%), grippy high tannins, full body. Medium flavour intensity, with flavours of leather, mushroomy earth, cloves, integrated chocolate oak, fading black plums. Medium+ finish. Good quality. Should have been drank up >5 years ago. Clearly tannins have outlived the fruit here. Mushroomy earth somewhat enjoyable though.

Excellent budget malbec (at $13). A bit tannic; I'd love to see how it gets after a couple of years. I'm buying more.

Nice leather tastes definitely no fruit, smooth but firm tannins. One of the better Malbecs.
