I have to say that this vintage is disappointing if you expect the Rocks funk. The funky, briny notes that I love Rocks for were faint or even very faint. I had two bottles. One had quite heavy sediment residue on the sides and was tasting more like an ordinary syrah with barely noticeable funk. Nice, but not what I was expecting. The second bottle was slightly better, with less sediment, but still not quite what I recall from earlier vintages or other producers (like Result of a Crush). The second bottle got better about 2-3 hours after opening and decanting through an aerator.

O Bargreen: Aged in 20% new French oak, nose takes on gobs of wet stone mingled w/ ripe blueberry, cigar ash, nori, smked BBQ beef ribs, espresso, giving off serious aromatic complexity. palate is soft and inviting with generous texture and marvelous length. effortlessly glides across mid-palate, delivering rich core of dark fruits that collide with wet stone, rose water, anise, Hoisin sauce and Umami tones. sensational in its youth, will enjoy a long life. Drink 2020-33

Walla Walla Syrah Festival: Wine Panel Presentation (Marcus Whitman Hotel): Wine 1 at the Tasting Panel of Walla Walla Syrah Festival Weekend. With some air this wine really blossomed. Black olives, roasted meats, white pepper, red currants and iron. Savory wine in which this should drink well beyond 2030. Outstanding and my wine of the 5 at this seminar.

Classic rocks district
Nose of matchsticks and dry sage with a palate of dark fruit, dried dark meats, umami and a finish of leather, char and ash
While i like the intellectual challenge of rocks wines, I am not the big fan - for the right person, this is one of the better renderings.
