Cherry and tapenade on the nose. On the palate, blackberry, olive tapenade, raspberry, and notes of black pepper and earthy spice on the medium to long finish, with moderate tannins and good acidity. This was drunk alongside a bottle of Vieux Donjon that was noticeably superior; however, this was still a good value at about $65. It is still young, and it should improve with age. Decanting might have helped, but this was opened for guests and there wasn't time for that.
Nose: cherry, blackberry, currant, anise Palate: strikes us as complex and dense. Pepper, lots of dark fruit, wood (oak vs pine) vanilla bean. Lingers for quite a while Tasted with: American Kobe strip steak and Primavera penne. Overall: this is great stuff. Honestly outstanding QpR with the complexity to price ratio. Consensus at my house 94 points

Decanred for 3 hours. Rest of a coravin’d bottle. Aromas raspberry Grenache, roasted herb, boysenberry , potpourri and hint of coffee. Flavors of boysenberry, raspberry Grenache, coffee, fig, iron and earth. Ends with a big finish of 40+ seconds with coffee and earth notes . Better than the last time.

Surprisingly lithe and elegant for 16% alc (makes me more comfortable with 14% Burgundy!). Had slight vanilla creaminess and New World strength of fruit, but this was well balanced, without jamminess. I enjoyed this more than I expected with good balance and fruit with more savory than overripe notest. Tannic with some grittiness. Would like to see this again in 5-10 years. Tempted to buy a couple more, but want to try again first. 92
