Community Tasting Notes (7) Avg Score: 91.2 points

  • Youthful, medium/deep bright ruby core, pale garnet rim. Clean, pure and still quite youthful nose, showing red and black cherry, plum, touch of vanilla and liquorice. Medium bodied on the palate, now with soft, seamless tannins, quite generous with darkish cherry fruit, fresh acids and a good length finish. More harmonious now and still very enjoyable but seems to have lost some of the vibrancy and excitement of youth which, at least in this wine, I enjoyed.

  • Medium ruby. Intense, if slightly tight nose, showing red cherries, strawberry, some darker cherry, vanilla and mineral notes. Medium bodied, red cherry and some strawberry fruit, light, very fine tannins, great depth on the mid palate here, then a slight note of chocolate as the thrilling acidity kicks in and carries a lengthy, minerally, slightly savoury finish. The clarity and purity of the fruit here is phenomenal, but its the acidity as much as anything else that makes this wine. Excellent. (13.5% ABV).

  • This has made a dramatic change in the six months since I've had it. The nose shows tart cherries. roses, and leather. Cherries, espresso, and florals on the palate with bright acidity, and a finish that keeps going. Very nice.

  • Red ruby, pronounced rim. Nose is quite closed initially, sweet red fruit, strawberry and then Bluebird toffee when left for a while. The palate is red fruit, sweet and fresh with pronounced but good tannins. Fresh, easy drinking.

  • Seemed closed at first, but opened slightly during the course of dinner. Acidic, light bodied, with tart cherries, showing oak, and seems to need some age. I'll try to leave my other bottles alone for a while.
