Enjoyed at a friends house over the Christmas holiday. Decanted 1 hr and I was struck by how young the wine still seemed to be. There was the usual orange edge of an older wine, but none of the plum or porty components I was expecting. Struck me as very spry with great fruit and resolved tannins. This wine probably has another 5 good years before it hits it's peak.

I drank this on Valentine's Day with a beautiful woman seated across from me, and a beautiful beef tenderloin with sweet potatoes sitting between us. Well I guess I hit the trifecta, because I thought this wine was excellent. Still fruity, jammy and enough depth to tell me that it could last another couple years. I finished the bottle the next day with a seafood pasta in red sauce. It was still good. And no, my rating is not clouded by the awesome-ness of my dinner guest or the main course , ha ha.

Drank on Thanksgiving after dinner. We cooked a turkey on the grill. When I drank this bottle later in the eveing, I thought I still smelled the smoke from the grill. After washing my hands for the second time, I drank the wine realizing the smoke smell was coming from the wine. After I told my wife about the smoke smell, she picked up aromas of bacon. Fruit was there but the gill (bacon) aroma was too strong for me.

Perfect, waxy, youthful cork. Dark colour. Obviously didn’t spare the lumber. Dark plum & cedar. Resolved tannins. Good acidity
