PnP. Very light in color for a petite sirah....almost translucent. bubblegum, vanilla, red fruit, and maybe a hint of burnt toast on the nose with similar flavors (absent the bubblegum) on the palate. nice entry and decent mid palate....short finish. Noticeable alcohol and fairly high acidity. No raisiny note which normally gives petite sirahs away. Tastes more like a mid 2000 cheap St Joseph with some fruit concentrate added to brighten it up. Past its prime but certainly still drinkable. For $17 it was a fun gamble.....I doubt this wine was expected to go this far when it was made....1998 was certainly not a great year in Napa. Drink now.

Fruit has faded, but the nose is still going strong. I compared the nose to "baby diapers" and after I said that my wife said "I can't drink this anymore". More for me I guess!

Some residual fruit, cherry; palate shows great structure, good red fruit; finish is medium length, good red fruit. Generic but solid. 87 Day 3: The remainder was finished today. The nose is showing more distinct violet and lavender, but the structure has degraded and the palate is now showing some bitterness and tartness.

Good fruit; palate is a bit unbalanced with EtOH. Drink up.
