Vinter Dinner for Napa in Newport (Supporting Cure Duchenne) (Pacific Club - Newport Beach): Drank this alongside an 18 Lotus and 19 Onda. The aromas made it clear which wine was 17 yrs old, as this had an amazing, Bordeaux like perfumed bouquet of mint, eucalyptus, tobacco and white pepper. This is holding up remarkably well, with great freshness and crisp acidity backing up still generous levels of dark fruit. It's balanced and very complex at this stage, showing off wonderful tertiary elements and finishing long and savory. For my palate, this is in a great spot, but I think it'll last another 10 years+.

Beautiful shiny deep garnet color. The nose was incredibly feminine of red fruits, garden flowers, chocolate, and tobacco. However, after an hour the aromatics died down. The texture was incredibly refined with silky tannin soft mouthfeel. Sweet red fruit, vanilla, and chocolate intermingled on the palate. Drink this now.

Color showed deeply intense yet brilliant ruby core extending to a medium-banded ruby rim. Nose showed intensely-flavored & youthful (albeit seamless) aromas of dried and fresh black fruit (blackcurrant, blackberry, cassis) showing well integrated cocoa-infusion, vanilla extract, summer forest floor, lightly toasted baking spice and a persistent flint element throughout. On the palate-(omg!), seamless but omnipresent palate drenching tannins throughout, moderate acidity (verticality unlike anything I've ever had before) soaking-fresh red and black fruit flavors especially black fig, blackcurrant, broad-spectrum oak notes of cedar and spice, earthy elements such as white truffle, pencil shaving, all delivered on a concentrated structure, effortlessly rich. Showing a little tight in its youth, I would give this wine another 12-15 years inbottle to fully mature, although could be drunk today with ample decanting.

Deep color. Not cloudy. Nose of dark fruits showing blueberries, dark macerated fruits. Slight chocolate on long finish. An outstanding bottle.
