Nice wine. Tasted at Stu Lerner's house on Howell Mountain! Spice, black currant, not overly fruited, so I liked it. Some moca notes as well. This needs some time, but this wine was already showing a lot of power and finish. A true Russsel Bevan type. If you know what I mean.

Tasted at a Vine Vault tasting in Austin.......well, it was 'less' green than the RMS, so I gave it 2 more points. Still green, though. Darker Tench fruit, herbal greens, spent coffee grounds, green pepper, black current. I don't know how you get green out of '18 fruit that hung for ages ripening under perfect conditions, but alas, it's here, in spades and not my palate preference. Still wound tight, too so maybe unfair to judge this early???

One hour slow ox. Deep dark magenta color. Oregano, spent coffee grounds, and black currant on the youthful nose. Smooth, dry palate. Firm tannins on the longish finish.
This has nice potential, but there’s a long way to go at this stage.

2021 Napa - June 9-12: Somewhat muted nose which caused my confusion with the RMS, this is Tench and more Tench. The palate was somewhat closed down, but I think this excels with time in cellar. Unfortunately, on tasting day this was outshone by it peers—very stiff competition.
