  • Seems to be entering a secondary phase of its lifetime, but still enjoyable. Fine tannins and a delicate palate of berries and mint.

  • Nose - raspberry, rose hip and hawthorn, with high pitched blood orange/ fresh orange peel giving tension. Mouth is extremely delicate (almost like creamy red berry mousse), medium+ amount of seamless acidity and fine tannin spreads horizontally, immediately evaporates/goes up the back nose, and stays there as intense fragrant finish. No much complexity on day 1, but shape and texture is just beautiful.

  • Delicate color, with soft spiced red cherry, blackberry, grilled mushroom, tea, and baking spice aromas. Nicely put together, gained freshness and structure with air.

  • Pale red color. Perfectly balanced pinot with great acidity and lots of crunchy, bright red fruits and some classic Santa Maria spice. Whole clusters add great complexity but are well integrated at this point. It will be fascinating to follow my other bottles over the next couple of years. At $45 per bottle, it is tough to find a better value in artisanal pinot noir anywhere.

  • Opened and decanted an hour ahead of grilled pork loin. Dark violet-ruby color. Floral nose brings some funk and musty earth with cherry blossoms, grape hard candy, lavender, violets, and blackberry pie. The palate is round, deep, concentrated, and supple, bringing strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, rhubarb, black tea, and lingering candied cherry notes into a refined finish. Exceptional balance, precision, and depth. Sweeter style but good savory notes and minerality on the tail. Drink 2020-2028. Technical score: 93. Enjoyment score: 93.
