Four years since I last tasted this, and it is much better now. The tannins are more resolved, the dark, pruney fruit is evident without being overpowering, and there is a nice long finish with a bit of kick. It needed about an hour in the decanter to be at its prime. Now ready to enjoy, much like a Bordeaux, including a bit of sediment.

Blackberry notes, on the tart side, with fairly pronounced tannin covering the other fruit flavors. One senses some good, complex flavors hidden in this tightly structured wine, but I think I'll let it sit for a few more ears before trying it again.

We really enjoyed this wine. The nose is plum with a bit of cherry, vanilla and even some figs. The taste is initially neutral, not a feeling of fruit, alcohol or spice, more of a bit of a mineral tang. But, that doesn't last long, the aftertaste and the growing taste is a wonderfully strong and nicely balanced set of peppers, coffee, and plums. We felt it was a very smooth, balanced blend, low on tannins, with a velvety mouth feel. The color is ruby red. It's 13.5% alcohol and a mix of 55% Carmenere, 30% Syrah, and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon (as pointed out already by others). This was excellent QPR and well worth getting again.

nice nose, full, complex flavors when first tasted. Did not seem to develop much in the course of the evening. I reserve judgment from this tasting -- good, but not quite as good as I had hoped. Will try again after a bit more cellar time.

South American Tasting (Jan's House): Nice integrated wine with earth, coffee beans, blueberries and floral notes. Medium finish and drink now.
