Decent nose. A little more fleshy than most chianti, we were told that this was mostly sangiovese with some merlot. Didn't have the acidity of most chianti but in this case it sort of worked with the pepper heavy grilled tuna. Actually, although I thought the wine itself was pretty ordinary it was a great match to the tuna. The match was so good, that I would really consider this pairing at home in the future.

The wine has medium acidity. It smells like cranberry, blueberry, light toast and raspberry. The wine finishes short. The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. The wine has narrow texture.

Translucent lite red, a few shads darker than a dark rosee. Sweet red berries with black pepper and wood. Heavy wood with raspberries and sugar-sprinkled rose petals, complete with the flower bitterness on the aftertaste and, along with strong wood, into the finish.

After tasting Nipozzano last year now have got a classic Tuscan wine Chianti DOCG; 90% Sangiovese and 10% Merlot; matured 6 months in stainless steel casks. Tasting: mediu ruby red with little violet; little fruit in the nose; delicate cherry taste and some flowers - as some other Chianti not so intense but ideal with food, balanced and smooth; medium bodied; good Tuscan Chianti, classic label

perhaps way too young to rate but a pleasant wine without defineable fruit. Had with lamb and salmon
