Chez G, decanted an hour, deep, quite dense ruby, little rim development; cassis, some liquorice, sweetish flavours, fruity; fullish, long, persistent and concentrated, big, slightly sweet mid palate, not particularly complex, attractive, hides alcoholic heft well, scope to improve yet. F (17.5)......tasted blind, I was confused by the lack of obvious CdP grenache or mourvedre flavours, it was almost too well mannered and I originally took it for a top Italian Bordeaux blend!

Decanted for 3 hours before serving. Not as complex as previous vintages of this wine that I have tasted (just about every year since 2004), but it is drinking nicely now.

My last of four bottles and this one showed the best. Black pepper, slight licorice, ripe black cherry fruit. It is slightly modern in style but it is dry and fresh. Very well done for an "off" vintage. We both enjoyed this but this is perennially one of our favorite bottlings.

Dark sour cherries with a long spicy finish. Well integrated tannins and alcohol.
