Drank this at Wah Lok with my wine mates. Theme of the evening: North American wines.
Bought this at a wine fair years ago and awaited for an opportunity to open it. Colour was reddish purple, with notes of raspberries, blueberries, plums, milk chocolate and light vanilla. When it was first opened the wine was light and smooth; after an hour of breathing the tannins became more evident with a short finish.

This is part of our on-going effort to find a drinking wine - nothing fancy and nothing pricey, profundity unnecessary, just solid drinking. We paired this with pan-fried beef tenderloin, roast potatoes, and asparagus. Wine was medium-deep purple, with plum and cherry nose. Medium body, some tannin, and the fruit followed the lead of the nose. Not for aging - drink it now and enjoy. This would serve its purpose if I can find it on sale.

A nose of some dark fruit and some spice, garnet in color. A medium to full bodied red, with black currants, cherries, tobacco and spice on finish, a good value. www.winelx.com

Drink the Vintners Reserve before food, then switch to the Grand Reserve with food. Makes a great transition without a huge shock in taste.
