Smoldering with dark fruit, as Petite Sirahs are wont to be. Tannins are still pretty firm, and acidity is solid but not especially strong. Decent wine overall, but lacks character and any standout qualities.

Nose is heavy with plums, raisin and cedar. The wine is rich and not as thick as it looks. Cedar, blackberry, and dark chocolate dominate the palette. Descent acid and tannin to help the strong fruit balance a bit.

The nose is so thickly sweet with clove and sticky fruit, it actually pushes my head away from the glass. Fruits are heavy and dominant in a gangly way that the leather only complicates rather than compliments. Decanting this wine for over two hours wasn't sufficient to settle it down, but it did help some to give it a full day after being opened. Still, there wasn't nearly enough acid to cut the cloying syrup. Tannic structure is sufficient, though, that it could be better after close to ten years in the bottle. Technically it seems like this winemaker's products are varietally correct, but I find them odd and off, in general.
