  • Decanted one hour - fair amount of fine sediment. Good color - a bit bricky. Earthy and cassis with some vegetal/bell pepper on the nose. Medium-bodied, well integrated, complex, but that vegetal aspect continued as the wine unfolded, and was somewhat distracting. Old school style with hints of eucalyptus on the plush finish. Still an intriguing wine that was stored well but appears to be slightly on the downside.

  • That's she 90 "old and moldy" and me 94 "fully mature, smooth as silk, plums and cranberries." I have to admit it is pretty much done, although I find these oldies interesting and fun to drink. If you still have any, drink it up.

  • 27 year old perfection. Dark purple color, tartrate crystals on cork (Wine diamonds), medium body with smooth finish. Dark sweet fruit, some spice and leather. Outstanding well balanced wine that continued to elvove through the night. Glad I have one more bottle!

  • Quite lovely, with plenty of gas still in the tank. Medium-bodied, red-fruited, and distinctly earthy (first) and fruited (second). Aromas continued to develop throughout the night, moving from mineral/soil to red currants some two hours in. The body is medium, the tannins, very fine, and resolved; still good structure here, should last another 7-10 years if well-cellared. Really pretty eucalyptus and herb notes distinguish this beauty. Cork and fill in exc. condition. Very much in an old-school style; loved it. highly recommended

double-decanted 2 hours prior to service, but in retrospect, I could have/should have decanted this for ~ 3 hours, then returned to bottle; delicate, but not fragile.

  • my last bottle of this remarkable wine. Anybody who does not think that the Napa Cabernet can age well needs to drink one of these…
