  Nose: This is a Savigny that is rusticly earthbound with Sour red Cherries, cranberries, brown spice, earth, raspberries, violets, licorice, tobacco, and bits of rosemary.
  
  Taste: The feel is Medium bodied with tart, medium+ acidity and refined, medium tannins. The structure is right in that perfect place for framing. The feel is poised while also showing off the rusticness of the nose with sour red cherries, raspberries, cranberries, brown spices, earth, tobacco, and violets.
  
  Overall: This is right in the zone and it’s wonderful. The aromatics really turn on with about a half hour to an hour in the glass with a savory, rustic side.

  Der Savigny-lès-Beaune "Aux Grands Liards" 2002 von der mir sonst sehr geschätzten Domaine Simon Bize hatte eine relativ neutrale, sehr einfache, recht weiche und süßlich-fruchtige Nase. Der Geschmack war weich, noch enorm jung wirkend und von helleren roten Beeren geprägt. Daneben zeigte sich ein ungewöhnliches ziselierendes Säurespiel, ein sehr glatter wie auch flacher Körper. Mein größtes Problem mit diesem "P" war die von Anfang an sehr präsente schlank-kühle Süße. Eine Süße wie ich sie aus dem Burgund eigentlich nicht kenne und auch nicht kennen möchte! In einer Blindverkostung hätte ich diesen Wein wahrscheinlich ins Markgräflerland – sehr durchschnittlicher Qualität - gesteckt. Solch eine Überlegung erschreckt mich! Keine Ahnung was das war!? Einen so "gereiften" Pinot Noir von Simon Bize habe ich zuvor noch nie getrunken. Seltsam ... und letztlich trinkbar.

  Very well.Elegant. Silky structure. Only a distant touch of oak. Lovely fruit. Not a bit tired.
