  Another bottle since 3 months ago. Opened at 2pm Decanted into another bottle at 5pm, fully ready by 8pm. Same notes as the Sept 16, 2023 bottle. Gorgeous.

  Medium ruby red center with orange edge and orange tint. Uncorked but not decant at 9:30am and served at 2:30pm. Wine was already opened and perfume when opened. No sediment.
  
  Basket of red berries, ripe cherry, dried figs, dried apricot, herbs, and tobacco. Very elegant, complex and balanced. Excellent mid-palate and layered. Long finish. This bottle could be better with more depth, like the profile in Vecchie Viti.
  
  We paired it with a bottle of Roagna Barbaresco Paje 2009. I served them blind to 5 guests. Some preferred the Pira and some preferred the Paje. One did not like either. I normally have a bias in favor of Barbaresco, but this time I preferred the Barolo Pira and also my favorite bottle of the day (out of 9 bottles). It was beautiful.

  Medium garnet, very clear, with a brown tinge. Fragrant nose - intoxicating aromas of perfume and incense, some mineral notes too. Palate is much smoother than the 2010 - earthy notes, menthol, followed by ripe forest fruits, forest floor. Soft tannins, complex structure, medium + acidity. Long finish. Beautiful!

  Drank over two days. Initial aromas are beautiful And typical barolo. Flowers, leather, cherry. Medium bodied. Very well balanced. By the second day this has thinned out considerably. Beautiful short term drinker IMO. (10 years)
