Blinds at Palace Steakhouse (The Palace Steakhouse, SF): (Blind) Medium minus garnet color. Tamari (tertiary notes), blackberry. Brett. VA. Beautiful leathery integration. This has depth. Medium tannins - melted. Elevated acid - beautiful. Slightly elevated alcohol 13%. Some puzzling botrytis (saffron).
I don’t have any classic guesses, but my off-the-wall guess is a ’91 Musar. Actual: Sebastiani 1976 zin proprietors reserve Conclusion: Interesting. This has aged wonderfully! It has integrated while retaining fruit and developing interesting tertiary complexity. By far the best older Zin I’ve had.

Only one previous tasting note available had me scared, but I enjoyed a completely different bottle of wine. I slow oxygenated this bottle for 10 hours and this bottle was fantastic. Blind, I would have guessed a mid 90's wine with lots of fruit left and even slight tannins. Classic old school Zin, this was served with bbq ribs and was one of the first bottles finished of the dinner.

Took a chance and purchased from Winebid not long ago. Low neck fill. Just looking at the color in the glass and you know its way over the hill. Some sludge at bottom of the bottle. Oxidized through and through. Undrinkable.

BYO - US wines (Trio): Very old and dusty but still has a touch of fruit left.
It is not very good, just special and old.
