Pours deeply golden to amber, oxidative in appearance but still smells great - orchard fruits, lemon curd and vanilla. Tastes of brûléed apricot, pineapple, gooseberry, sea salt…. But by the end of the evening it was going and the leftovers were done on night two.
These are notoriously long lived and it’s drinking well for its age but there’s no upside in holding further.

Cameron Wine Dinner with John Paul (Estadio - DC): This wine is advanced, but still firing. Nose of honey, almond, peanut brittle, hay, whipped honey, some chalk dust and sea salt. Gorgeous plush texture on the palate, acidity so tangy. Lemon, tangerine, yellow apple, mixed with seashells, minerals, nougat, whipped honey. Delicious stuff, I think the 2007 was much more youthful, but this is still going as well.
