Well that was epic. So cool to hang with great friends and talk with John Paul. Wines showed wonderfully, service was so good. Epic night.

  • 2015 Cameron Pinot Gris Ramato Abbey Ridge Vineyard 91 Points

Very cool wine. Complex, spicy aromatics, red apple. On the palate, lots of spice and flowers, white pepper, white tea. Complex, dusty minerals, precise.

  • 2007 Cameron Blanc Clos Electrique 95 Points

    USA, Oregon

Another stellar bottle of this vintage. Glorious stuff. Aromas of honey, rich apple, oranges, lemon curd. So precise and elegant on the palate, mouth-watering but lots of richness. Lemon curd, tangering, melon fruit laced with white tea, honey, limestone, honey, notes of green herbs and wet stones. Wow.

  • 2008 Cameron Blanc Clos Electrique 94 Points

    USA, Oregon

This wine is advanced, but still firing. Nose of honey, almond, peanut brittle, hay, whipped honey, some chalk dust and sea salt. Gorgeous plush texture on the palate, acidity so tangy. Lemon, tangerine, yellow apple, mixed with seashells, minerals, nougat, whipped honey. Delicious stuff, I think the 2007 was much more youthful, but this is still going as well.

  • 2012 Cameron Blanc Clos Electrique 94 Points

    USA, Oregon

Gorgeous stuff, this bottle seemed a bit further along than I had expected, but absolutely awesome still. No real detailed notes but it lots of richness, freshness, depth, minerals, complex fruit and nougat/spice elements.

  • 1999 Cameron Pinot Noir Abbey Ridge 95 Points

USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Dundee Hills

Holy smokes this was great and totally intriguing. Nose of sour cherries, raspberry leaf, smoke, bacon, some slight funk. Crisp acidity, still some dusty tannic structure. So vibrant, still cherries and some strawberries with notes of smoke, bacon fat, wet leaves. John Paul was stoked to see this wine and said he had great memories of the 99 vintage, so I'm glad this bottle showed so well.

  • 2001 Cameron Pinot Noir Abbey Ridge 93 Points

USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Dundee Hills

Spicy nose with rhubarb and flowers and red fruit. So savory on the palate (mushroom, rhubarb, dusty earth, dried flower petals) on a frame of dusty tannins and crisp, clean acidity. Fruit is mellow, but still some chilled red berries in here.

  • 2004 Cameron Rouge Clos Electrique 94 Points

    USA, Oregon

Aging wonderfully, it's been awesome seeing this wine over the course of a bunch of years, and this bottle shined. Smoky, savory aromas, violets, rhubarbs, pepper-spiced sausage, on top of tart red cherries. Spicy cherries on the palate with silky tannins, crisp acid, and still some bright strawberries, complex notes of smoke, rhubarb, mushroom, bone broth. Loving this.

  • 2010 Cameron Rouge Clos Electrique 94 Points

    USA, Oregon

A beautiful wine, still with lots of life ahead. Takes a bit to open up to show smoky tobacco, beef, roses, raspberries, pomegranate. Crisp on the palate, tannins provide plenty of structure, still a youthful core of crunchy red fruit, with some mushroom, earth, iodine and pepper coming out. I'd love to revisit in another three or four years.

  • 2015 Cameron Rouge Clos Electrique 95 Points

    USA, Oregon

What a gorgeous young Clos Electrique! Nose of juicy cherries and raspberries, with earthy, smoky, charcoal and spice notes. Structured so well on the palate with fresh acidity, spicy red cherry and raspberry fruit. Savory notes underline the fruit and will come up much more with time, but this is beautiful young. Five to eight years should do wonders for this wine.

  • 2011 Cameron Nebbiolo 92 Points

    USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley

This showed really well. Pepper and smoked paprika on the nose, sage, sausage, on top of black cherries. Crisp and lively acidity, dusty tannins, crunchy red fruits. Laced with earthy, savory spices. Very good showing, and John Paul was really excited to see one of his Nebbiolos pop up at the tasting. Fun addition.

Flight 3 - Burgundies (5 Notes)

  • 2008 François Raveneau Chablis 1er Cru Butteaux 95 Points

France, Burgundy, Chablis, Chablis 1er Cru

This was killer. Nougat, seashell, lemon zest, some ginger and seaweed notes. Glorious palate with zesty acidity and a lot of depth and plush feel. Crisp, mineral-encrusted, salty, oceanic, but it's evolved quite a bit, showing some almond, dried honey and hay notes. Well-balanced, complex, still showing youth but also timely signs of age - in a nice spot.

  • 2010 Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Caillerets 93 Points

France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru

Lots going on aromatically, balanced between the bright and the richer elements. Pure on the palate with rich texture and firing acidity. Rich fruit, complex minerals. Very nice to compare this with some of the other killer Chardonnays in this tasting.

  • 2005 Henri Jouan Morey St. Denis 1er Cru Clos Sorbé 94 Points

France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Morey St. Denis 1er Cru

Lovely showing here. Lots of red currant and cherry fruit on the nose with smoky, iron, mushroom, mineral tones. Tangy, bright, prickly red fruits, but also still structured so well. Perfumed, earthy, smoky, crisp yet still built for the cellar. Showing very well, I'd love to revisit again in three or four years.

  • 2005 Domaine Roblet-Monnot Pommard 1er Cru Les Arvelets 92 Points

France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Pommard 1er Cru

Nose of cherries, raspberries, smoke, herbs, clove, rich aromas. Tangy on the palate, still youthful with tannins, but nothing is harsh, it shows finesse. Still juicy and tart red fruits, with lots of spice and clove, earthy, smoky tones. Muscular but not heavy, stays fresh and so bright, plenty of time ahead but I also feel like there's a lot to be enjoyed in drinking now.

Whoa, this is in a very nice spot. Crisp and lively, dusty tannins, silky, crunchy red fruits, complex earth and floral tones. Quite harmonious. Still time to go, but this is on point right now.
