Opened Saturday night and decided to close it back up quickly as we didn't have time to wait for it to improve. Fortunately, improve it did -- by Sunday night a glass was nice, but even better Monday evening! Glad we didn't give up on it entirely as it ended up nice enough to be glad we have 2 more bottles.

I will add a positive review to the apparent progression with this wine as it is excellent enough to warrant a full report. Out of the bottle the wine was quite tight, but began to release intense flavors after an hour and is really singing after two hours opened. The oak and fruit have perfectly melded now in the nose leaving more earthy and chocolaty aromas to take front and center stage. Bright acidity and rich tannins awaken the mouth as the cranberry, pomegranate, blackberry and plum all reveal themselves in sequence. The finish is more tannin, gravel, graphite and something with a tinge of something like cinnamon. Very good, and we too wished we had more!

From reading the 2006 review, this wine has aged nicely. It is much better balanced, and the oak is blended in more. Good tannins and the acidity is just about right, or maybe a little light. I got the cherries, raspberries and herb on the nose, with the fruits on the palate also. It did take a little bit - 30 min - to really start showing itself. Both of us and our friends wished we had a second bottle to drink.
