  Garnet with orange rim. In my opinion this always showed more power than their classic cuvée, but it was also less balanced with much more tannin and slight bitter flavors in the finish. And even at age 19 after the vintage it is showing more structure with these slightly bitter finish, which is how ever not unpleasant to my palate. For now it has a still intense core of fruit with complex tertiary flavors and scents and despite its colour it seems still young to me with a decade or more to go if optimally stored. 5/12/18/9

  This was a stunning bottle - drunk from magnum. On initial opening still somewhat closed (worried me that might have been too soon) but over the course of the evening opened up wonderfully with some cassis and mint. There was great warmth and length - just classy.

  Very concentrated, rich and sweet fruit, almost crème de cassis, ink and lead pencil, well-judged vanilla; richly extracted but not heavy or unwieldy; great length. Shows real class.
