  • Another lovely bottle, alas my last, for now, trocken from Dönnhoff. It was seamless and harmonious with a beautiful nose where fragrant white fruit flowers and gentle petrol were in balance. The palate was medium bodied and subjectively dry with a little RS, I think, perfectly balanced by moreish acidity additing complexity in the form of fine minerals, honey hints and discreet spice to the aromas from the nose and showing a marked saline spine supporting the finish. Very good.

  • Dry, fully mature. Perhaps it was bottle variation, but this wine came across as fully mature, perhaps with its best days some 3-4 years already past. There's still some good qualities to admire, they're just pretty dialed down, subtle. Light>Medium bodied, no spritz, moderate depth. Very light petrol, mostly delicate peach; some white pepper and geranium notes. A little more extract around the core, and a touch more acid would have been most welcome. That said, it was still good as a complement to the COZZE E VONGOLE ALLA LUCIANA at Locanda Positano in MdR. Drink now.

    Served non-blind.

  • Beautiful colour of light gold with green tints. Lively nose with white fruit, fragrant flower, light spice and hydrocarbon touches. The dry leaning to tendre palate was medium bodied and suave yet lively adding minerals, hints of honey and sugar to the aromas from the nose but these last were balanced by crisp mouthwatering acidity and a saline backbone. Two years ago I commented on a slight tartness on finish but that has now disappeared and the wine now gives a less dry impression than I noted then perhaps due to greater fragrance. Very good but I don't think I'll wait too long before I open my last bottle.

  • Beautiful colour of light gold with green tints. Lively nose white fruit, flowers and hydrocarbon touches. The dry palate was medium bodied and lively adding minerals, crisp acidity and hints of honey to the aromas from the nose together with a saline backbone. A touch of tartness towards the finish disappeared with food ("daurade" and goat cheeses). I think that this has got a lot of life left in it. Very good.

  • Checking in at 10 years old and it'd be impossible for me to guess this vintage, still very youthful. The color has added depth, goldenrod is what first came to mind. Swirling around the glass reveals no formation of legs. Nose shows a very slight diesel, not a distracting level, and red apple and pear. Palate is bright lime and peach supported by medium acidity and a strong rind flavor. Crisp and clean finish with a nice twang resulting in an angular mouthfeel.
