Found this bottle after having marked it "presumed drunk" some time ago, so we're having it tonight with our beef Bourgignon, and in spite of the cork breaking in half, it's drinking well and a good pairing for the meal.
Fairly opaque with garnet edges. Aromas of cassis and blackberry, graphite, licorice, soil, chocolate, and walnuts. Medium body, acid, and finish, with flavors of cassis, black raspberry, plum, blueberry, black cherry, lemon, spice, and minerals. These were a great value.

Deep, dense color, with some ruby to crimson towards the edges, along with a bit of bricking at the outskirts and a clear meniscus. Aromas of dark chocolate, caramel, coconut, cedar, and blue and black fruits. Medium body, acid, and finish, with flavors of black, blue, and dark red fruits, along with some aged iron and beef blood notes. Tannins are integrated. Enjoyable now with a well seasoned and perfectly cooked flank steak tonight. Yum yumski.

Do not decant or aerate, which will take away some of this wine's fruit and tannic backbone. For the money, this is hard to beat. Great balance with nice cassis fruit, soft tannins and tobacco notes. Tastes like a Napa/Sonoma cabernet in the $35+ price range. Would have rated it higher if the fruit were more concentrated, but this is a remarkable deal.

Some good, simple, dark fruit backed up by a pretty good load of tannin. Reasonably well balanced now, but I don't see it approving much with age...
