Screwcap. Jammy dark fruit but not overly so. Less extracted than the 2008 Penfolds 407 I had a year back. Oak is well integrated but you can definitely pick up the vanilla and liquorice. Very moreish, well made Aussie wine. At peak and will likely remain so for the next 5 years.

Peter Bourne's Right Bank - Merlot and Cab Franc lead the way (Sydney): Colour Clear, medium intensity, purple, legs Nose Developing, medium intensity, slightly jammy red berry compote and a touch of raisin and, also in a most strange way, a touch or greenness. Mouth Medium plus alcohol and acid, Medium body, flavour intensity, tannin. Dry. Again, the contrariness of jammy fruit and a certain green unripe quality. Medium minus length. Spice. Hmm

Didn't make notes. Very consistant range of red wines.

Henschke new releases tasting with Prue Henschke (Prince Wine Store - Bank Street): A nose of plums and herbs with spicy oak and tannin complemented by beautifully balanced fruit and a chocolate finish.
