Still a dark, purple-red, with great intensity of colour and minimal fading towards meniscus.
This was a cooler vintage and the second of two consecutive La Nina impacted vintages. However, the ripening period was not too rain effected. I think this shows in the 3 Lindeman's Coonawarra wines - there is often some leafiness, but to me it is a bit more pronounced than usual and there is even a hint of some celery on the nose; however, there are also some enticing cassis and tobacco notes that bring it back from the brink.
The palate is succulent, redolent of cassis, a hint of blackberry, maybe a suggestion of juniper, some leafiness and tobacco but the vegetal elements are far less pronounced and this finishes with fresh acid and some fairly gentle tannins. A delightful wine - not a blockbuster but none the worse for that. This cries out to be consumed with lamb - perhaps a recipe using some juniper berries?
This note made after a 1 hour decant from screw cap. Who knows what it might be like if subjected to the Russian Roulette of cork.

Delicious full bodied but nicely balanced. Fruit and nut chocolate with firm but integrating tannins. Lovely mouthfeel and great length. Much better on day 3 after opening. Hold for 3 and drink for 15+.

Deep black purple colour. Aroma of Tobacco, oak, dried leaves and spices. Sweet plum, blackberry, dark chocolate. Fine but grippy tannin, sharp acidity. Full body, long finish. Still young and needs more time to smooth out.

Lovely Bordeaux blend but was expecting a bit more given it has some age.
