Its been a few years since checking in on this. Valerie made some veggie chili that needed something bigger to pair. PnP, drank over 2 hours.
Deep purple color, no real separation. Nose of dark fruits, smoke and pine cone. Palate showing plums, blue fruits, savory, licorice, pepper. Medium weight and finish.
Classic WA Syrah profile, fruit forward and layered. Has softened (from memory), aged nicely though less expressive. Tradeoff of fruit for additional complexity less evident. Was better in first hour than second... Still very nice, well made wine that was a great QPR when purchased. Would drink over the next 3 years

Included in informal tasting of random wines mostly accumulated as hostess gifts. Nose quite nice with blackberry, vanilla, spice. Light in weight but disappeared on the palate with some plum, meat, pepper. Nice drinker but past it's prime.

Liked this much better this time around, all blue fruits with fine grained tannins and good acidity to match. This was a Garagiste Mystery wine. For $15, it was amazing, a classic WA Syrah.

Second bottle of the night (for the two of us). Excellent upon opening. Nice and rich, well-balanced. Did not improve a lot through the bottle, but then again, it started strong.

Solid 90 point wine. As from the spring, rich and full bodied, no edges.
