  • pretty stinky upon opening. Nose was moderate brett, red fruits and some earth. Pretty much the same flavors, red fruits, earth, some bitter green notes. I enjoyed this, but the brett could be a problem for some folks. Bottle had some moderate sediment.

  • Apparently my last bottle of this, I will produce a compliment: if grocery store red wine tasted like this, would be all in. Unfortunately, this is a fairly expensive poulsard from an excellent producer, convincing me of what others probably already know, Mr. Ganevat is a wizard with white wine but for whatever reason the reds are not that impressive. Nothing really tasted off other than the expected spritz, just this wine checks all the boxes of folks who don't like red Jura wines anyhow: somewhat bland and dilute, neither fruity nor earthy, just a little lost. Properly paired with taco salad.

  • Definitely had that reduced rubber scent at opening, and surprisingly (to me) still plenty of spritz. Otherwise, no particular movement, despite poulsard as a very light grape, this bottle still tasted quite fresh. Enjoyed with bouillabaisse.

  • Absolutely consistent with the previous.

  • From memory. Expected pale tawny ruby, pleasant cherry nose and refreshing palate. Tasted when opened, and seriously decanted to disperse the spritz, after all that activity I would say this wine was slightly more intense than the average poulsard, and very pleasant. Nonetheless, clearly Mr. Ganevat's whites are the stuff to seek out.
