  • Brought this back from Croatia. The nose wasn't promising...the wine smelled slightly oxidized. The color wasn't promising either - as another reviewer noted the wine was already brownish at the rim. Nonetheless the wine turned out to be pleasant if unspectacular. Strawberry, raisin, and plum flavors with a bit of sweetness along with a little spiciness on the back end. Fun and interesting wine that I will probably never drink again.

  • Ah, almost missed this one since I figured it was the same as Badel's 2009 Pelješac (which is over 14.2% mind). Dark red body. Dry, earthy, slightly creamy though bloody plavac aroma. Dry, simple earthy-bloody sweetish aroma carrying some berries as well - the first impression being worse than the second one. Slightly beety too, and initially felt too dry.

  • Already clear discolourations on the rim of the glass. I got slightly brown-red-watery reflexes. The rest was vermilion red and had a lot of transparency. Not so much of a “little blue one” (= Mali Plavac). The nose seemed highly influenced by raisins, sweet’ish appearing smoke, plums, a couple of distressed and sweet strawberries and a few burnt fragrances. I might describe it as a rather simple and unattractive nose impression. The taste was quite sweet, not repulsively sweet, but not too far away! I got flavours of plum x strawberry marmalade, rum chocolate, hints of tobacco and dry bright brown earth. The body seemed not that bad. Same for the actual structure. Unfortunately the rest was dominated by mawkish sweet reserve sweetness and plenty of dumpiness. Consumable it was, but not more! Downright questionable QPR! By the way, I am not a big Plavac fan. Probably an additional problem ... ;-)

  • Lovely wine. Nose had hint of some spice, pepper; palate lacked a bit in acidity but had a lot of fruit, no noticeable tannins; fruity finish. Overall this drank like a low-alcohol traditionally made zinfandel. Though a bit more acid would have made it better, this was still very enjoyable.
