TN: Wines from Eastern Europe and Greece: Ruby in color. This has a very troublesome nose. Hugely bretty (think outhouse) but also this urinal cake quality to it, that had us reluctant to sip it. The palate, however, was much better and actually good. Black raspberries with some pepper. Some tannins. The off notes return on the finish though. Rustic or unclean? Not sure, but this would be a hard wine to serve to people.

Popped and poured. A nice garnet red, with some bricking evident on the edge. The nose is rather expressive, showing very pleasant red berries, like lingonberry, with a very slight hint of tar and smoke, and perhaps even a hint of tea. The palate is quite rich with nice red berries, good acidity, some tannins evident, a bit of a tea like bitterness in the finish. This is actually very delicious and seems to be at its peak right now. All delicious crunchy red berries, elegant, excellent!
