  Very very big. But it behaved pretty well with food, which I didn't expect. Huge zin nose, with a bit of alcohol which blew off pretty quickly. Then chocolate, coffee, sour cherry. Same on the palate, with good acidity that holds up on the long finish, and strong tannins that only come through as an aftermath: the fruit is big enough to entirely mask them for a bit after you swallow.
  
  A half-hour into it, it's actually pretty tasty on its own, in a Port-like way, as a fair bit of residual sugar becomes more evident.
  
  You know, I liked this, though I'm not sure I *approve* of it...

  Still very good. I have been drinking this over the last several years and I note with this bottle that the best time to drink this is now. Not as big as the bottle in January. Still layered with developing notes of pepper and fruit, but more subtle.

  A great zin; full of pepper and berry on the nose and palate. This is drinking fabulously now. It started out a little closed so decanting this for a little while will help it a lot. It was good on the second and even third nights. This will pair well, though the only thing I paired it with was pizza and it did will.
