Upon opening there wasn't much to like or dislike. Even after 4 hours bottle decanting, but then I put it in a decanter and let it sit for another 6 hours and it came to life. Bright fruit, muted tannins. A very well made wine. Drink now!

Cork was in good shape, very minimal seepage. Color is still a bright ruby purple with no browning along the edges.
Aromas of red berry, spice, tobacco, menthol, cigar box, and pine are alive with effervescence.
Palate is smooth and dry, tannin is mostly resolved. Up front, blackberry, cherry, and plum fruit are balanced by earth and spice. Finish is medium long, but slightly astringent and not totally clean.
Overall, fully mature. Pretty good example of aged Napa Cabernet. Drink now -2023, doubt it will improve more.

Wow what a little cellar time will do for a good wine! Well integrated tannins and acidity. The nose evolved over the first hour to express coffee, dried figs, pencil shavings, blueberries and mint. Wonderful layers of mocha, mint, cedar, bing cherries, ripe figs and black pepper. A wonderful wine that has evolved, developed and blossomed into a stellar effort from the team at Robert Craig.

In reading my notes on the ‘08 Veeder from 4 years ago, I indicated this was at peak and unlikely to be much more long lived. I was wrong. This still has plenty of tannic backbone to balance some sour cherry, black raspberry, and a hint of oak. Still drinking very nicely.

My notes from 2021 still apply. I move the rating down a point at this tasting.
