Mid ruby. Dark red fruit in the mulberry spectrum. Mellow, finely velvety texture, maturing with some sous bois to the meatiness and mellow fruit. Tannins nicely soft. Decent acidity. Lovely. Very very fine sediment not that takes out the last glass — too fine for even my fine lab-grade filter. Beautiful with rib of veal. Now and for a few more years. ****

Popped and slow oxed for two hours and enjoyed with dinner (grilled kabobs). This was a great showing of mature Burg. The concentration and depth of flavor was exceptional. True to the vintage, the flavors were more savory and earthy although there was some red fruit and a slight sweetness on the finish. The wine was very smooth as the tannin has resolved. This hasn't turned tertiary yet and is still extremely fresh. This is in the zone right now.

A bit out of balance. Slightly too sweet with some floral elements and tannins not entirely resolved at this point, with some rusticity which does not match the fruit. Blind I would guess a regular medium aged village wine.

Elegant and nicely balanced. Surprisingly youthful, still some fresh red fruit flavours on palate but also showing lots of maturity. 4/5 (90-92)
