  • Drinkable, but rustic and muddled.

  • Via Coravin so this may have seen too much oxygen. Smells ripe and with the heat of the vintage with some rootsy aromas. Dry on the palate with some washed out pruney flavours. Drink up or sell them quickly!!

  • tasted in april 2013, in paris at a tasting with the domaine.
    not decanted
    good cork

beautiful pinot robe, nice transparency - correct

WOW WOW WOW on the nose. this is showing a huge block of pinot on the nose, forest floor, some beet juice and depth of fruit

The palate is closed for business. The tannins here are very present and a bit rugged. The o9 is showing nice acidity for the vintage and beautiful length. The tannins are guiding this for a long long finish and shows it is built to age.
the only gripe that I have about this wine are the rustic tannins. I feel they will smooth out with cellar time or a 2 + hour decant. When I was buying the bottle, the guy got nervous about me opening it for dinner. I told him it was for my cellar and he smiled. i said i would keep it at least to see it's 10th bday, he shook his head and said longer.
i really look forward to opening this bottle when his day comes.
