My first glass of this wine, after I opened it last night and over the course of the following hour, left me discouraged by its veil of impenetrable, drying tannins. Different story today: the tannins have resolved into the very fine, grainy tannins typical of mature 1er PV, complemented by delightfully pure fruit flavors. Not complex, but terrific sincerity and brings a smile to the face. Yay Pavelot.

This seemed at the front end of being ready to drink, with a healthy pre-airing. Got a cold after opening, so, sadly, no observations on its development after the first day open.

Labeled as 13% abv. I had this with leftover ham and turkey slices from Thanksgiving and with a baked potato. Purple color, lighter around the rim. The nose and palate tend to dark fruits. It was a decent pairing with the ham but not a great match for a sharp Cheddar. My score for the wine would be in the upper 80s.

Showing far more secondary character than bottle from February 2020. Superb bottle given what it cost upon release.
