  • Dark almost black red; wonderful expressive black cherry nose; soft and rich attack with quite a few spices in the middle, rich middle and ending, soft and sweet, a bit of mocca perhaps; clearly a strong masculine wine, but to me PS really improves with age. This one is approx 15 years old and, I believe, in the beginning of its drinking window

  • Perfect timing. Still with lots of fruit. Caramel, oak, dark fruit. Punchy wine. Drink now. I have been disappointed with 2004 and 2005 recently. Afraid they are over the top.

  • Sadly I finished my final bottle from a case of six last month. This was a wine that never shut down and gave immense pleasure from the get go.
Without using over elaborate vocabulary everything about this wine was a total joy with great harmony, structure and length with stunning aromatics.

  • I found this well crafted wine to be superb in almost all aspects. A sense of power and refinement / gracefully elegant while still being assertive.

Removed from a 55 degree active and consumed on PNP. Pristine cork. Assertive nose of boysenberry, crushed blackberry, menthol, and sweet pipe tobacco. Mouth filling and round on the palate with good precision. Rich dark fruits, charcoal, and milk chocolate engage the palate...although the fruit is starting to fade to the background with secondary notes emerging. Tannin is refined and engaging.

This wine may hold for another 3-5 years, but it is perfectly acceptable to consume now given its pedigree and satisfaction at this stage of life. Certainly in its drinking window....
