Medium gold color. Aromas of ripe apples, peach pit and honeysuckle. Ripe, full-bodied complex fruit in the mouth with excellent depth and length. Oily and very persistent on the palate. Surprisingly fresh and intact for an 11 year old Chardonnay but I would drink up!

12 Days of Christmas - 2018; 12/21/2018-1/1/2019 (NYC, Vermont, Lake Placid): Tasted blind - Flight #1 - Wine #1: Color is golden yellow. Nose of golden apple and buttered popcorn. On the palate this is quite rich and buttery, some notes of honey coming through with the apple and butter - also oak. Definitely new world in style with less acidity and freshness, more rich and opulent. The winner of the first flight with 51 pennies voted - but placing 4th overall in the championship round with only 5 pennies (clearly a red drinking crowd).

Deep straw yellow, this bottle was very good, but starting to show signs of age. Blind tasted against 3 other lesser chardonnays, this easily won the night. Still, not our favorite Kistler at this time.

Served with halibut filets with a lemon vinaigrette and paired very well. Beautiful deep gold in color. The wine is still vibrant, elegant and smooth on the palate. Nice acidity. Balanced fruit with notes of apple and tropical citrus. Wish this wasn’t our last bottle.
