This bottle was barely drinkable. Compared with our previous bottle (2014) this bottle showed considerable degradation. We have learned not to hold these Chardonnays so long but it takes time to work our way through these older ones.

Skunky, over-the-hill. Unfortunately, too many Kistler Chardonnay wines only last a few years before they start oxidizing. This wine was probably at its peak no later than 2006. :-(

Not many white wines can go this distance. 13 years and still holding up. Of course the fruit Is not.dominant but it has plenty of pleasing flavor. Pear vanilla cream Apple pie. Not shy on the oak or alcohol. usually these big CA wines can't last 5 years. You would think france if the heat wasn't there.

Very good, barely stained cork. Light golden yellow. The wine takes about 45 min in the open bottle to open up. Initially rather flat and closed with the exception of the sharpness and spiciness coming from a fair amount of oak. Later more expressive with a nice nose with some citrus, white fruit and some grassy notes. Not as expressive on the palate as a good Burgundy and the finish is rather short here. No signs of oxidation whatsoever in this bottle as some previous notes seem to indicate, but still a bit disappointing for me. Plenty of better Burgundy whites at a similar price point. 90-91.

Too oxidized for my taste. Perhaps a storage issue. Picked this one up on clearance from K&L.
